Day 6: Diane Victor

Diane Victor was born in Witbank, in 1964. She received her BA Fine Arts Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, majoring in Printmaking.

She has received a number of awards and international residencies. Victor teaches as a part-time lecturer, in drawing and printmaking, at various South African institutions including the University of Pretoria, Rhodes University and the University of Johannesburg. She exhibits both nationally and internationally and has work in a number of private and public collections both locally and internationally. 

Victor works in a range of media, predominantly drawing and printmaking and experimentally with smoke and ash. Her work explores social and physiological issues often employing some sense of satire.
